Congratulations Sophia Curtis and Ian Shaeffer! These two 8th grade Wilson Math students earned the highest two grades on their Geometry Unit Assessment. They won the honor of throwing a pie in the face of Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Dropsey for the second annual Pi Day Celebration at McDowell.
Emma McKibben is pictured presenting her award-winning essay at the Pickaway Plains chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting on February 21, 2017. Emma was awarded 1st Place in the 8th Grade DAR essay contest for Pickaway County students. Congratulations, Emma!
**All participants must have a valid physical and a completed Athletic Packet on file with the Athletic Director prior to the first day of practice and/or try-outs.
Track and Field—Practices are Monday-Thursday, 2:45-4:30 PM, beginning on March 7th. An information sheet is available in the McDowell office or from Mr. Lytle. There are no try-outs or cuts.
Softball—Optional open gyms: Feb. 13th and 16th, 7:00-8:30 in the High School gym.
Tryouts: Feb. 21st and 22nd, 6:15-8:30 PM in the High School gym.
Feb. 23rd—Pitchers and catchers, 6:15-8:30 PM; all others 7:00-8:30 PM.
Players will know if they made the team on Feb. 23rd.
Practice: Feb. 24th, 6:15-7:30.
Parent & Player Meeting: Feb. 24th 7:30-8:00 PM

McDowell Exchange School is proud to announce state and regional level art winners!
Eighth graders, Genevieve Carstensen, Allyson Cotton and seventh grader Garret Summers each have artwork chosen to be a part of the Central Region Ohio Art Education Association(OAEA) exhibition in March at the Rhodes State Office Tower.
Seventh grader Josie Martin had artwork accepted in the state level Youth Art Month Exhibition sponsored by OAEA held at the State Teacher’s Retirement Systems in Columbus in March.
Seventh grader Keller Clouse had artwork selected to be a part of the state level Young People’s Art Exhibition sponsored by OAEA at the State Office Tower in March.
Allyson Cotton also was awarded second place it the state of Ohio Youth Art Month Flag Design competition in the grades 6 through 8 category.
Keller Clouse’s Youth Art Month Flag design won as the Overall Winner in the state for her Youth Art Month Graphic Design.
