Back to School Information

Back to School Night—NEW DATE

· Wednesday, August 16th—please note new date; date was changed to avoid conflict with athletic scrimmages

· Parent and Student Meeting at 6:00 PM in the gym

· Classroom visits 6:30-7:30 PM

First Day of School

· Monday, August 21, 2017

· Our school day is 7:55 AM-2:33 PM

Immunization Reminder

· All 7th grade students will need to provide proof of immunization (tdap and meningococcal) to the school nurse prior to the start of school.

Backpacks: All backpacks must be stored in the students’ lockers during the day.

· Our lockers have two sections: the bottom section is only 6 inches wide x 13 inches deep; the top section is 12 inches wide x 8 inches tall x 13 inches deep. Backpacks must fit into these dimensions.

· Backpacks cannot be left unattended in the locker bays or hallways.

· Many teachers do not permit backpacks in the classroom due to limited space and safety concerns.

· Students will only have textbooks in math (soft-sided workbooks) and Algebra 1 (hard bound textbook). Social Studies textbooks are classroom sets and are also available online. Science and Language Arts do not have textbooks.

· Students are permitted to go to their lockers between classes and have ample time to do so.

· Only school issued locks are to be used on lockers. All 7th grade students and newly enrolled 8th grade students are given a lock at Back to School night. Returning 8th grade students should use the lock that was provided to them last year; if you forget the combination, we have a record of it in the office! If you need to purchase an additional lock, the office has locks for sale—used ($3.00) and new ($5.00).
